What is Remind
& Find?
Remind & Find
is a set of labels that help people
find and put away household items. The labels
use picture and words that clearly depict common items
used primarily in the kitchen, bedroom and
bathroom. The pictures become increasingly important as
a person’s ability to comprehend words becomes more
difficult.
Who would
benefit from using Remind
& Find?
Anyone with memory loss; whether it’s due to dementia,
cognitive impairment, stroke, or brain injury. Individuals
with cognitive disabilities, especially those transitioning
to independent or supportive living environments. Older
adults who are adjusting to the unfamiliar surroundings
of a new home. Sometimes a “relocation effect”
occurs when older adults move, making it more difficult
to find the new location of common household items.
Easy-to-Use Labels
Made of quality vinyl, the labels
are easy to apply, lift and reposition. Simply peel off
the label you want to use and place it on the exterior
surface that contains the item described on the label,
such as the outside of a cabinet, drawer, door, or storage
place. Some of the labels are designed to go on the outside
of a door, indicating what’s on the other side.
The “hot” and “cold” labels can
be used to mark water faucets.
 Telephone
Contact List
There’s also a telephone
contact list you can apply to a wall or other surface
near a telephone, as a handy reminder when calling family,
friends, and emergency numbers. It has 9 boxes arranged
to match the number pattern on a telephone. The top 3
boxes show where to call in various emergency situations.
The remaining 6 boxes are blank; each has room for a name,
telephone number and photo. You can program the telephone’s
speed dial to correspond to the numbers above the boxes.
